ALLAN CAMERON
musician
Bio

It has been said of many artists that one of the main distinctions between stardom and mediocrity is the “IT” factor. Allan Cameron certainly hasIT”. During his eclectic career to date, many of his peers have also seen this in his performances and songwriting.
Born in Tamworth, Allan’s career began in the gospel/rock band, ‘Cornerstone Rock‘, later, performing with the likes of Keith Urban and Lee and Tania Kernaghan. He also reached the Grand finals in the coveted Tamworth Starmaker Quest. However, Allan’s musical forays did not end there, as he went on to perform at many of the major venues nationally and internationally with a variety of Rock and MOR bands, including; ‘ Rusty and the Ayres Rockettes' and 'Three Magic Words'. Currently performing solo or in the 'Allan Cameron Band' he has also formed the 'Stars of Guitars' show to highlight some of the guitar music that has shaped his and the worlds musical life.

In addition, Allan has independently released two albums of original material "Man Made New" and 'Second Chances"- both have won him the Queensland Recording Association ‘Sunnie’ Award for Best Adult Contempory Album, has been published as a songwriter and become one of Queenslands most accomplished guitarists. He has also been a winner of the 96.5 FM Creative Challenge Award for Best Vocal Performance.
When listening to Allan’s live show, it is obvious that it represents the culmination of this vast experience and the development of his signature style. Allan’s influences are diverse, ranging from artists such as Eric Johnson, Phil Keagy and Ritchie Kotzen to mainstream acts such as Steve Perry, Lou Gramm and James Taylor. Allan’s own songwriting is all about honesty and his everyday life rather than the ‘best road to success’.
It's not that Allan doesn't want success with his recordings and live shows, but he has spent a good deal of his career with an agenda to 'make it' and knows that honesty is the best road to personal and professional success. When Allan first picked up a guitar at 16 years of age it was as if every piece of his life fell into place . For Allan, it was about creating original music that brought something new and moving to the world. Allan's life has come full circle and although life experiences in the music world have changed him deeply, it is all about the gift of making music.
